Market Leaders In India

The Indian water pumps industry is comprised of leaders like, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd, KSB, Shakti Pumps, Lubi, Grundfos, WPIL Limited and thousands of other small and medium enterprises. They are developing new technologies in the form of innovative centrifugal pumps, solar pumps, submersible pumps, drainage pumps to carry the segments like domestic, industrial and agricultural sectors. However KBL, KSB and Shakti pumps are considered as main competitors because they have wide extended distribution network not only in India but worldwide too. However the market has become more competitive because of entry of many other small manufacturers in the organized and unorganized sector. Since its launch in June 2014, Pumpkart.com has taken all along small and big manufacturers together to become a leading player in the segment of agriculture and domestic pumps.

The industry can be segmented into centrifugal pumps and positive displacement pumps based on their applications.  However, in the past few years, the centrifugal pumps are in the demand because they find higher applications at the users end. Whereas, technological advancements and government policies have been significantly changed the market and demand for advanced pump units. Know More about Centrifugal Pumps

Centrifugal water pump is generally used to move heavy water from one area to another. It consists of a rotating impeller together with in a casing, a central piping system and a discharge connection. When it rotates, its impeller also rotates and churns the liquid around. Churning of liquid generates centrifugal force which throughout the water with pressure. Whereas, the mechanical seal of this pump add a basic buffer to protect its shaft when packing material proves unsatisfactory. The two major components of a centrifugal pump are the impeller and diffuser.

How to install centrifugal pump:

For the installation of a pump, take help from plumper and follow the instructions given in below:

  • For pump installation, the foundation area must be firm. After selecting the right location for installing pump, you should take the necessary action about excavation, set solid and well-braced forms.
  • Once the pump and driver has mounted on the foundation it is the right time to connect the piping. There are various piping recommendations that you must be familiar with them. Must check the pump temperature before operating it because metal parts expand and contract with a change in temperature.
  • If your pump is attached with open or semi-open impeller, it is time to make the initial impeller setting. The final clearance can be set when the pump comes up to its operating temperature.
  • Now you have needed to do a proper venting of the pump. If it is a vertical installation then you will have to pay proper attention to keeping air vented from the stuffing box while the pump is running.
Once you have done all of the above things, it is time to investigate the mechanical seal environmental controls working. In most cases the environmental control will continue to run after the pump has stopped.
